I love planning ahead whenever possible, especially when I am saving money at the same time!
In this video I share how to get the most out of that $3 chicken and a technique that works beautifully for poaching boneless thighs or breasts in the Instant Pot.
What I didn’t mention in the video, is you could do the exact same overnight broth method with a purchased rotisserie chicken should that be an easier option for you at the time.
Enjoy!
Hi, Liz!
Debra Jo Endres-Ard Hi!!!! So
Great tips Liz Geeslin!
Great Diane! Thanks!!
Love making chicken bone broth. So good for us
Ann Cash
Love homemade Bone Broth
So delish!!
In the crock pot, this is different (raw??!) chicken or from
The same chicken that had just been roasted? And it is covered entirely with water? I need to get an instant pot. If any are left to buy, SO popular.
Betty Tonsing the bones from the roasted chicken go in the crockpot. You can poach chicken breasts /thighs in the Instant Pot…watch again, I explain
Liz Geeslin yep. I got that. Sorry I meant to write instant pot! . It is early. In the instant, is the chicken raw or from the same 3 buck chicken. And covered completely in water? I need to tune my daughter into your cool videos as well.
Betty Tonsing its raw…the other chicken is cooled and in the fridge…just add enough salted water to cover the meat and follow the directions I give
Just roasted one the other day. Had chicken fajitas for a meal. Making soup today! Love when you get many meals out of it!
Linda Nelson no kidding, right?
Soubds delicious.greetings from Indonesia , accross the sea from you
Thank you Tjahjaning Giemwarudju S!!!
Thank you
Your welcome Kara!
Great seeing you here!!
Great tips Liz Geeslin, I do this too. Poached chicken in salads is yum. I often boil up a chicken for the meat to be used on homemade pizza, salads or just on it’s own!
Yes yes and yes! plan ahead and have options is my motto!!
Liz Geeslin great idea! Pays to plan and be organised right
A whole chicken for 3.40??? That’s just wrong. Sorry. But there’s nothing wrong with getting the most out of any product. Example: I freeze veggie scraps (including onion skins and other peels) and make my own broth once I have enough.
